Android Honeycomb Tablet A500 Review

Google, Android OS Honeycomb AOS talk of the town as the calendar rolls over into 2011. Billed as Android, the first true AOS tablet OS, most got their first look at the Honeycomb during CES where it was loaded on Xoom Motorola. Since then we've seen a lot of Honeycomb-based tablets found their way into the market, including Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and T-Mobile LG G-Slate, both our product, since the last.

Today we will see who else is built around Android tablet, this time coming from a traditional PC maker, Acer Iconia Tab A500 meet.

Acer has become one of the leading manufacturers of netbooks in recent years, a position that gives them the opportunity to grow sales in North America and in Europe. With sales of netbook tablet with a meal at an accelerated pace, we can clearly see where Acer Iconia led offerings. We intend to find out what, AOS Acer proposition with Iconia Tab A500, not only from the perspective of value - the driving force of netbook sales - but in terms of features, design and overall experience.

Our unit shipped with version 3.0.1 running Android retail price of $ 449. Since the tablet has received an upgrade to version 3.1 and Android Honeycomb cutting the price to $ 395. A 32GB model is available for $ 50 premium. This price is set Tab Iconia to $ 100 and $ 150 cheaper than Apple, AOS iPad 2 for the same storage capacity.

If one were to compare the best cheap Tablet android honeycomb Acer, AOS Iconia Tab A500 to other options in the market, it would most like Motorola, AOS Xoom both in fit and finish, which is not, AOT bad thing though months have passed since the introduction Xoom is, there is, AOS is more competition among the tablets from the previous.

In front of the tablet was 10.1, Äù screen with a black bezel that extends from left to right edge and ending at an angle of 90 degrees. On the left side of the tablet we find the power button / sleep, 3.5mm headphone jack and a mini-HDMI jack. Iconia Tab on the right side is a pinhole reset button, full size USB port, mini USB port and power connector.

Across the top edge of the tablet is the volume rocker, a key switch orientation and micro SD card slot under a hidden compartment. Then at the bottom is a proprietary docking connector that works with the optional docking station.

Docking station allows two different viewpoints, to work as a charging station and features an external speaker connection. Also included is a wireless remote control that allows you to adjust the playback media.

The back of the A500 is similar to the iPad 2, there is a beautiful brushed aluminum layer. A 5-megapixel camera located on the upper right side panel with a small LED flash on it. Two stereo speakers with side bottom corner of the Acer logo is centered in the middle. I really like what Acer has done with the back panel, I think it looks better than both the iPad 2 and Xoom.
