 Transparent droid phone concept

The Mobiado concept phone is called CTP002 is basically one big, transparent sapphire glass with two titanium edges on the left and right. The glass is a color capacitive touchscreen. We know it's only a concept and from a technical standpoint it seems all but impossible, but the Mobiado CTP002 is a joy to behold.

Still, Mobiado's plan to cram in the SIM card slot a chipset that's powerful enough to run Android and a battery with enough juice for the phone to run more than a minute is science fiction with today's technology.

Philips Xenium X806

Posted by mainan tempo dulu | 09:43

Philips Xenium X806 offers a touch screen with minimalist features. The connections limited  to the edge only, besides it the touch screen lost much quality when compared to the phone output from taiwan or korea. But you don’t be disapointed because philips still rely on long-lasting battery.

TFT Type touch screen with 256K colors certainly are not too impressive but with 240×400 resolution screen is still comfortable for viewing. Responsive touch screen is the benefits of this phone. This dual-on (GSM-GSM) phone only provide miniUSB port for charging. For memory slots philips provide up to 8Gb microSD to support internal memory that only 47Mb .

5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash allows you to record video with VGA quality @ 15fps. There is also face detection feature that ease us to take pictures another people’s faces.

As a beginner class touch screen phone, the features provided fairly adequate. Advantage located in the dual-on and the efficiency of battery consumption that can last for days. One of the pity is the absence of 3G connectivity in this phone.

Rugged? Check. Built-in flashlight? Nod. Solar panel on the rear? Yep. Android 2.2? For sure. All of the essentials (and then a few extras) have been tossed onto the Umeox Apollo smartphone, shown off for the first time today at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It's hardly a high-end device -- in fact, at just $100 off-contract, it's bound to be one of the less-capable Froyo handsets on the market. But considering that this is positioned to put Android into the hands of those who aren't exactly champing at the bit to spend a month's wages on a phone, we'd say it's a huge step in the right direction. When asking about specifications, we were told to expect a MediaTek processor, microSD card slot, rear-facing camera and a SIM card slot. The unit on display was a non-working mockup, with an on-site representative noting that shipments should begin to Europe, Latin America and India this May (with other nations to follow). The device felt satisfactorily solid, but unfortunately, no technical details were available regarding the solar panel on the rear.

In related news, the company was also showcasing a couple of other innovations: a new solar cell microchip and its first solar cell. Prior to this week, Intivation only sold the microprocessors, forcing partners to go and find their own panel supplier. Now, it's entering another business with the Sunboost3 all-in-one solar module, and if it's hopes and dreams come true, you'll start seeing these on a slew of upcoming handsets.

So, your iPhone is great. You love it and use it all the time, but every afternoon you get that dreaded "Low Battery" message. If that sounds familiar (and it will for most smartphone owners) you need an extra battery. Back-up batteries usually come in cases that snap on and provide an extra charge to your iPhone, but Kensington offers a different option, with a clever twist: the PowerLift Back-Up Battery and Dock ($49.99 direct). It's a spare battery, but it's also a dock, and a vertical or horizontal stand that fits neatly in your pocket. It keeps your iPhone clean and slim, lets you connect it to any computer, and gives you extra juice and a convenient place and angle to keep your phone. It's a little cumbersome if all you need is a spare battery, but considering its other uses, it's just the right size.

The PowerLift works with any iPhone or iPod touch model. It's a small, black, palm-sized square with silver accents measuring just 2.5 by 2.3 by 0.7 inches (HWD), and weighing in at a feathery 1.8 ounces. There are a number of movable parts: an attached four-inch USB cable and a slot for storing it, a silver hinge that pops up to hold the iPhone, and the swiveling dock connector. The latter two parts feel a little flimsy, but I beat them up pretty badly during testing and they continued to work fine. The dock also has a battery indicator with a button and four lights indicating the battery's charge (more on that in a second).

ExoPC Slate

Posted by mainan tempo dulu | 04:12

The ExoPC Slate is a tablet computer with an 11.6 inch display and no keyboard. It has an Intel Atom N450 processor and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. But what really sets it apart from the crowd is the custom user interface designed by ExoPC.

Don’t get me wrong. The hardware is decent. The large, high resolution display is a nice touch — although viewing angles are a mixed bag. And the touchscreen is quite responsive. There’s a decent array of ports around the sides of the slate, and while it’s a bit heavy to hold with one hand, it’s about as light as you can expect a computer with an 11.6 inch display to be.

But in general I’ve been underwhelmed by the Intel Atom-based netbooks I’ve used in the past. While the ExoPC doesn’t exactly pass all tests with flying colors, it’s clear that the company put some thought into making the experience of interacting with Windows 7 using your fingertips a little easier, especially on low-end hardware. Unfortunately, the ExoPC doesn’t exactly have a low-end price. It sells for $699 and up in the US.

I still think that if you want a truly great Windows slate experience you’re going to need to spend more money for a machine with a faster processor, higher quality display, and maybe an active digitizer — at least until Windows 8 is available. But for now, the ExoPC Slate is probably the Atom-based Windows tablet to beta, for what it’s worth.

ExoPC sent me a demo unit to use for a few weeks for the purposes of review. You can find purchasing information for the tablet in the USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia at the ExoPC web site.

Here's what reviewers for CNET, The New York Times, PC Magazine, PC World, and The Wall Street Journal had to say about the Xoom.
